Vote Now!!!! Was Goldilocks a criminal????

Exposition Writing

We have been concentrating on exposition writing this term. Please read the following arguments and vote for the most convincing argument.

Vote on the right side of the screen.

Goldilocks the Criminal

Goldilocks is a well known criminal, not a curious little girl. She barged in, demolished and stole.

Firstly, Goldilocks disobeyed her mother by going into the woods. She trespassed on the property of the three innocent bears.

Secondly, she scoffed the nutritious porridge that belonged to the bears. She tampered with all three bowls of porridge and finally ate the breakfast belonging to a baby bear.

Thirdly, she deliberately rocked on a baby bear’s special chair. She did not use the chair properly and demolished it.

Finally, when she was discovered in baby bear’s bed after interfering with the other beds, she ran home. There was no apology. Goldilocks left the house of the bears like the criminal that she was.

As you can plainly see from our argument, Goldilocks showed her true disgusting self – a hard-nosed criminal.

Goldilocks was a Curious Little Girl

We believe that Goldilocks was a curious little girl, not a criminal.

Firstly, Goldilocks was a sweet little girl. She was curious and enjoyed exploring. She became lost and frightened and
clearly needed help.

Secondly, she did not break into the house of the bears. Baby bear left the door unlocked. As the door was open, she thought someone inside could help her. She didn’t know that she should not enter other people’s homes. She was only a little girl. When she discovered no one was home, her curiosity led her to look around.

Thirdly, after being lost for some time, Goldilocks was hungry. She ate the porridge belonging to Baby Bear. It was the smallest portion. Would a criminal be so considerate! It would be easy for the bears to make more porridge.

Fourthly, it was reasonable for Goldilocks to sit down as she waited for the owners of the house to return. We are not told about the chair. It may have been old, broken and overused anyway.

Finally, any little child needs a nap. How sensible of Goldilocks to put herself to bed after a frightening day. When she was found, she became so frightened of the bears that she ran out without getting the help she was looking for.

As you can see from our arguments, Goldilocks is a young, curious, lost little girl. She was definitely not a criminal.

Paperbark and the Flag!

More Australian Flag Shots!!

The Fallen Paperbark Tree

'B' Block's fallen Tree
The wild winds on the evening of Monday 24th August 2009 resulted in part of the paperbark tree outside 'B' block to collapse.

Such a momentous event called for photos to record the image forever!
